Overview

Accompanied by the Apu “Awsanqate”, we immerse ourselves in seven days of extreme adventure, with emotional experiences. Surrounded by impressive mountains and snow-capped mountains, the trek to Ausangate offers the traveler a wonderful space for walkers, nature and landscape lovers. We can enjoy spectacular mountain scenery, peaks, snow-capped mountains, hot springs, turquoise lakes, glaciers, “alpacas, vicuñas” and picturesque villages.
It is essential to acclimate to the altitude before starting with the adventure. We must be prepared for the cold, changing weather, steep paths, but it will be worth the effort to get the best experience.

Itinerary

Day 1

Cusco – Tinqui – Upis

We will travel throughout the southern valley, passing through places with great renown, Oropesa - the land of a bread called “Chuta” - Huacarpay with its abundant vegetation and its lagoon that hosts many species of fauna and flora, Pikillacta an archaeological Pre-Inca, till arriving in Tinki. We will then start our trek to Upis, where we will camp.
Day 2

Upis – Lago Hatun Puka Qocha

After breakfast, we will start our ascent passing through beautiful lagoons, small accompanied by “alpacas, llamas” and the splendor of the snow mountain of Ausangate.
Day 3

Lago Hatun Puka Qocha – Pampacancha

We will reach one of the highest pass, Palomani at 5000 m, and then we will go down to Huchuy Finaya where we will rest before continuing our walk till arriving to the camp.
Day 4

Pampacancha – Qomer Qocha

Your challenge today will be to pass the second pass with a height of more than 5000 m, place to appreciate the vicuña (camelid) that coexists with the Ausangate Mountain.
Day 5

Qomer Qocha – Pacchanta.

We will descend accompanied by small rivers, camelids, and breathtaking landscapes, arriving to the village of Pacchanta, where we will enjoy its hot springs, as a reward for the whole walk done during our adventure
Day 6

Pacchanta – Tinqui – Cusco.

Descent towards the village of Tinqui. We will leave the muleteers and take our transport back to Cusco.
