Overview
Spectacular viewpoints on the Prehispanic Cusco and its lagoons and snow-capped mountains. Andean living culture, Inca and pre-Inca archeological complexes, scenic beauty in landscapes and natural attractions, abundant diversity of ecosystems.
Visit the high plateau or balconies erected over the valley. Bordering much of the mountain it will allow us to appreciate the beauty of the sacred valley and its snowy peaks. This exceptional route will allow us to appreciate also, plains, valleys, ravines and cliffs of the high Andean nature.
Itinerary
Day 1
Cusco - Patabamba.
- On the morning, we will leave Cusco in transport to reach the community of Patabamba. During the travel we will appreciate part of the Sacred Valley and the magnificent Vilcanota on its maximum expression. Arriving on the community we will be welcomed by members of the community.
- Lunch
- On the afternoon we will have time to make a small walk to the viewpoint to see the panorama of the Sacred Valley and Pisaq. In addition we will enjoy the demonstrations of weaving and ethno botanical living activities.
- Dinner and night in the community
Day 2
Patabamba – Huchuy Qosqo
- Breakfast and then we start the walk through the Balcony of the Sacred Valley. One last effort and we will reach the Pukamarka pass (4300m). The descent is affordable to the community of Pukamarka (red place in Quechua –because of the color of the soil).
- Box lunch in the archeological complex of Pukamarca.
Then we will continue the trail through the beautiful Canyon Leon Punku, until we reach to the archeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo. In most parts of the trail, we can appreciate the remains of the original Inca Trail, and the control point to the complex. - At our arrival to the community of Huchuy Qosqo, we will be received by members of the community and they will install us in their houses.
- Dinner and night in the community.
Day 3
Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay
- Early breakfast
- We will descent towards the Sacred Valley and the village of Lamay. On the way we can observe the flora and fauna and the beauty of the Sacred Valley. Arriving in Lamay, we will take our return transport to Cusco.
