Overview
Going through beautiful Andean landscapes we will immerse ourselves in the path of our ancestors “Apu Salkantay” which in the Quechua language means “Rebel Mountain” alluding to the dense clouds that surround and rise above the low forest. One of the most important snow-capped mountains for the Andean world, considered the sacred mountain and protector in the Inca period, is located in the mountain range of Vilcabamba. It constitutes one of the main elevations in this mountain range to 6,271 m. During our trek, we will have the pleasure of appreciating the exquisiteness of its flora, tropical forests and Andean fauna in its natural state, this route is considered as an alternative access to Machu Picchu.
