Overview

Itinerary
Cusco - Raqchi
- Early in the morning we will leave Cusco to reach our first step, Andahuyalillas, a church from the seventeenth century. It is also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Andes for the beauty of its murals, the works in gold leaves and the paintings of the Cusco school, who are inside.
- We will then continue towards the community of Raqchi, where we will be received by the members of the community.
- Lunch in the community.
- In the afternoon, we will visit the imponent “Mirador de Tucallana” from where we can observe the Wiracocha Tempe and all the ruins inside the archeological complex of Raqchi, and then visit the marvelous place, Also known as the Temple of the God WIRACOCHA, who was the supreme deity Inka, we will find the larger quantity of “Colcas” (Granaries), and magnificent building in stone and adobe.
- On our return, we will have a workshop to make ceramics, music and moments to share with the family
- Diner and night in the community.
Raqchi – Puno
- At around 08:00am. We will start the walk to the mountain or volcano quimsachata. Our local guide will make an offer to the Apu Quimsachata and will share with us the rich history the apu keeps. We will also can admire the panoramic view and variety of flora and fauna that only keeps this ecosystem.
- Lunch in the community.
- In the afternoon, we will continue our road to Puno passing by LA RAYA, which is the frontier between Cusco and Puno at the altitude of more than 4335 MSNM and where is located the famous snowy peak CHIMBOYA. From this mountain born the river AMAZONAS.
- To end this espectacular day and before arriving in Puno, city of the Highlands and the highiest lake of the world, we will make a last stop to discover a little more about the PUKARA Culture, who leave between 1600 AC until 400 DC. In the museum, we will find ceramics and sculptures representing morphic zoo figures, among them the famous sculpture of HATUNÑAQAC that in our times would be translated as the supreme cutthroaten.
